Accessibility statement
Last updated
We want everyone to be able to use our website, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use. This statement explains what we've done, the standards we aim for, and how to contact us if something doesn't work for you.
Our commitment
We design and build websites for a living, and we believe every website should work for everyone. This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard widely used in the UK.
What we’ve done
- Clear structure: every page has one main heading and a logical order of headings, so screen readers can navigate it easily.
- Readable text: text has strong colour contrast against its background, and you can zoom up to 400% without losing content.
- Keyboard friendly: everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline. A “Skip to content” link lets you jump past the menu.
- Works without JavaScript: if scripts are blocked or fail to load, every page still shows its full content, and the menu still works.
- Respects reduced motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, our animations, intro and background video are switched off.
- Video control: the background video on the home page has no sound and can be paused with a button.
- Images and forms: meaningful images have text descriptions, and every form field has a visible label.
- Mobile and tablet: the website adapts to any screen size, from small phones to large monitors.
How we test
We check the website with automated accessibility testing (including Google Lighthouse, where every page scores 100 for accessibility), keyboard-only testing, and testing at different screen sizes and zoom levels. We re-test whenever we make significant changes.
Known limitations
- Some older articles may contain links whose text doesn’t fully describe where they go on its own. We are reviewing these.
- Links to other websites, such as social media, are outside our control and may not meet the same standards.
